| not sure how to use the sweep function. Is it essentially an odd shaped lfo or have I missed the point? Is there a method of restarting the sweep every cycle (of 16 steps) or is it entirely time based? All help gratefully recieved |

David,
From your comment "The sweep generator is essentially a single-shot low frequency oscillator" my question is "On the presumption that the single-shot effect of the sweep is initiated when you set the sequence running initially, how - particularly in AR mode - do you re-set/re-start it once it's played itself out?". From the manual, it's not obvious whether this is actually the case or, indeed, even possible.
I know you've said (above) that it's time-based, but wouldn't it be useful, if it isn't possible already, to re-run (or re-start if it hasn't yet finished) the sweep in real time whilst the sequence is playing? Being able to do so would help to enhance the real-time performnce aspects of the ZEIT.
And then something else occurred to me . . .
In the Menus in Detail part of the revised manual, the second paragraph of the section relating to the LFO/Sweep Generator Menu says "For more details on the Low Frequency Oscillators and Sweep Generators go to the Tutorial section, Using the Low Frequency Oscillators".
I've had a look at Tutorial 2 (which relates to this) and there's nothing about using the the Sweep Generator in practice, only the LFO. I realise that I failed to pick this up when I was reviewing those parts of the manual
Is it worth including something about this whilst you're making the manual revisions (perhaps along the lines of the explanation in your post)?
Cheers

Thanks to all
think I understand the sweep now
might it be possible to programme the number of steps or midi clocks for this function.
Otherwise it might take a dive part way through a sequence if it was a slow one.
presumably if steps you would have to have a dominant sequence ie sequence 1 which all others were nailed to timewise.

| Where are the Tutorial sections of the manual? They aren't part of what's posted in the online manual. |

Robert,
The Tutorials do exist, they just aren't online yet.
David and I had some fun last week trying to get useable copies of my initial proof-read/amended versions of the manuals/tutorials back to him so that he could do further revisions based on my additional comments (see his opener to the Update 30th April thread) rather than starting from scratch.
To my knowledge, this has now been resolved by dint of some "faffing" from my end so it's just a question of how much extra work David still has to do before the full manual contents (including tutorials, appendices, etc.) is made public.
